The book, “How To Talk so Kids Will Listen” is a great read and I own that version. But for those of you with younger children, I highly recommend the book, “How To Talk so LITTLE Kids Will Listen.” I checked it out of our local library and then typed up these notes (printable file below). Each chapter ends with a summary of strategies and I typed up all those summaries into one handy document for easy reference (and so I could print it out). Having them displayed in my home (on the fridge) as a “cheat sheet” enabled my husband to easily have access to some of the information I read about and could implement some of the strategies as well with our children. This could also be useful to give to any family members who are trying their best to support the parenting strategies being implemented in your home.
