Making A Book

Language Arts Lesson: πŸ“šMaking a Book πŸ“š

We have been using the Usborne Books- My First Reading Library set to learn how to read. Materials and links below πŸ‘‡πŸ». Wyatt wanted to make his own book after reading this one many times. *Bonus: the books come with age appropriate comprehension activities.

This activity can be done with ANY book your child is reading- try searching for a read aloud and a song to go with the theme of your book. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Materials List:

βœ… Colored paper for front and back
βœ… Any book that your child has been enjoying reading on his/her own to copy and write words from.
βœ… Manuscript tablet paper (the kind with the dotted lines to make writing easier for children)
βœ… Colored Pencils
βœ… Stapler

πŸ’‘ I recommend that a child be proficient with letter and sound identification as well as being able to write letters BEFORE trying to teach reading.
