We are talking about “whole” and “parts” to start off this math activity. Different combinations of numbers make up a larger number, etc. We are using LEGO’s as our counters. We record how many combinations and then we tried a fun guessing game to help Wyatt realize that there are different ways to make up a certain number. The child can use the “Story” sheet as a guide if needed at first since that has all the answers on it. “I have 5 LEGO’s. Three are in my cup. How many are in your cup?” I laminated these two sheets and we use a dry erase marker in order to re-use them.
