Wyatt has a watch that he’s been asking about so it prompted me to make this “Montessori work”. I bought this blank red clock this week from the Target Dollar Spot ($3.00). I modified it using a chalk pen to include the numbers and interval spaces. Using an acrylic marker (nail polish works too), I wrote “hour” and “minute” on the appropriate hands and colored the top of the minute hand the color blue to easily identify it. I used pipe cleaners and beads to make the counters by 5. I plan to also purchase a functioning clock to hang so we can use that as a reference tool for the actual time.

Tips: Write out various times on an index card or white board and have the child practice putting the clock to that time. My son also likes to write times on a white board and have me move the clock to that time.
