Human Organs:The Brain

We are having fun exploring the different organs and their functions within our body. We will go through each organ with a similar format below. We will watch videos, read stories, color and do various activities. This lesson focuses on the brain in particular. I hope you find it useful.

I like to always have a “control” card so the child can do the work independently and check his or her answers. Printing out a second set and gluing it together can achieve the control card to place in front of your child.

Brain Hat: In order to download the very cool brain hat that I used, you will need to go directly to the source that created it. Click here for Ellen McHenry’s Website. You will need to click on “Free Downloads” and then on “Human Body” and you will see the “Brain Hemisphere Hat” to click on. The directions are very easy and it’s a super fun thing to do. I used hot glue when creating ours.

The books I am using in my lessons are: The Human Body Shine-The-Light Book, Uncover The Human Body, The Usborne Human Body Sticker Book (which is out of print, but contacting a consultant is a good way to still find copies…it worked for me!). I’m also using two coloring books in my lessons: Human Anatomy Coloring Book and My First Human Body Book.
