Kristen Duskey

Kristen moved to the Tampa area from Ohio and is the proud mommy of a 2 year old little girl. Kristen has always had a passion for working with children.

She worked as a nanny through college and upon graduating, she worked as a social worker with children in the foster care system. Her main role was working with the parents that lost custody of their children. She would work on the case plans to help them achieve/overcome the obstacles that resulted in getting the children taken out of their home.

Additionally, she supervised the visits between the parents and children to make sure appropriate behavior was being displayed. Kristen truly loved that position because she was trying to make a difference in helping those individuals become better people and parents to their children. It was very heart breaking for her to know what the kids went through to be taken into the custody of children services.

Kristen also worked as a medical assistant in pediatrics for 10 years. Her role was to prepare the patients for the doctor which included recording medical history, taking vital signs, collecting specimen/blood samples and administering medication/vaccines. This job gave Kristen the opportunity to instill a positive experience with children coming to see the doctor from the youngest of age. It was a fulfilling job knowing that she helped make these children feel better and make them as comfortable as they could be at the time of their visit. Being a stay-at-home mom was always part of her plan once her daughter was born, but

Kristen missed helping people and she thought what better way than to do what she has always loved… and that is caring for children. Kristen holds leadership roles in her Bayside MOPS and Moms of Clearwater South organizations where she enjoys making connections with other moms and helping to support and embrace the journey of motherhood with others.

Kristen is currently babysitting part-time out of her home for a few established clients, but she wanted to partner with MommyDazzle as a way to expand and help more families. She knows how hard it is to find a reliable and trustworthy person to care for your child. She sets high standards for herself and goes out of her way in making the parents feel at ease knowing their children are in a safe and loving environment.
